This week Jonathan and I reviewed our slides with Professor Boyd and it really helped us see the upsides and areas of improvement of our presentation. The overall content of our presentation is looking good, but we need to make an aggressive stand for our ideas and the adjustments that TECT Power needs to make for their branding and recruiting efforts. In my opinion, our message for this presentation has been the "safe" message. I think we did this mainly because we were so focused on giving our clients what they wanted as opposed to giving them what they need to do. TECT Power's branding and recruiting are very relatively passive, and they need to adjust this to be more aggressive with their message, connecting to their target market on a higher level, and build their brand as a fighting force in the aerospace and engineering industry.
Going forward, Jonathan and I need to stay focused and finish the semester strong. We need to prepare for our presentation on the 23rd and get our final report in on time. I think we learned a valuable lesson this week. It is important to take a stand with the message you are trying to present to your client. Do not just be a "yes man" who just gives their client a safe option that you know they will fully support and understand. In the end, they are looking to change and improve in one way or another, so it is important to be bold, and tell them what they need to do in order to change even if they do not agree.
