Blog Post #10
Hi all.
We have finally reached the final few weeks for out capstone projects, it has been quite a semester and an overwhelming month for me. It was hard to balance school ,other activities and things going on in my life in the previous weeks but with time management ,a little patience and a lot of support from Professor Hardin, I have been able to take one step at a time and learn a lot of lessons and accomplished a lot of work throughout this month, even though I haven’t been meeting enough with my client however my work was going in the right direction and have been getting some feedback , pointers and guidelines from our weekly staff meeting and from the ongoing progress of the current project that my team of GA’s and I have been working on the past few weeks. Last week I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Susanne Masterson in person, she was very knowledgeable and helpful and have provided us with a lot of detailed information that we can use for our project and for my capstone as well. I have been learning so much about Lindner College and the working dynamics of the Marketing Department, this project made me appreciate the time and efforts all the Lindner staff put together to make it happen and make our program one of the best nationally and hopefully internationally. I am looking forward for our Monday’s in class session and hearing everyone’s pitches, I have prepared mine and I’m interested in hearing your thoughts and feedback on the pitch for Monday’s Class. I am not getting much responses on my survey, so I’m giving it a little more time in hopes to get more responses to help me with my core competency module and importance and perception part. I can’t believe that we have almost 4 weeks left till we finish our projects and less than two weeks to do our presentations. I would like to thank my client Professor Hardin for being supportive and understanding when I went through rough time and wasn’t sure if I can continue with my work, I had doubts about my work and projects several times and she was the one and only person who truly believed in me and was confident that I’d do great and have even pushed me to work harder, Thank you Professor Dianne, I will never forget how supportive you were when I wasn’t sure what to do. Meanwhile, I am in working progress continuing the final report and preparing a draft of the presentation for the next upcoming class, I feel slightly nervous and not ready but I’m glad things are going smoothly…indeed time is your enemy here.
The insights from this capstone projects has truly made me appreciative of everyone’s role and job at Lindner College of business, I have made a few connections, became recognized by several professors as a GA and as a student working on this capstone project, it has enhanced my skills and my interpersonal skills, still working on a few of other skills such as learning how to deal with team work and how to be collaborative, I wish I would’ve given this advice to myself day one to comfort myself. I am very proud of everyone’s work and I can see an amazing future for each one of you academic wise and career wise.
I wish you all the best of luck in the remaining weeks.
Thank you all.
Good luck classmate.
